How to Strike a Nerve: Pipeline in Perspective

I knew something was up when my coworker came into my office with the flyer.

“At first I didn’t know what this was” he said, and admittedly when he showed it to me I didn’t know at first either. It was some sort of document, typeset in an accessible print, but marked-up in red with these freehand doodles and caustic comments and vulgar language.

In the moment it took for these images to settle in my mind, I realized what it was I was looking at. Buried underneath the colorful annotations was an open letter to the Bad River Band, written and distributed by representatives of the oil company Enbridge. The mark-ups appeared to have been some individual’s open response. I acknowledged the thing with some few words of amusement.

“Yeah, but,” my coworker’s finger flew to a corner of the flyer, “what about this?”

BAFS Closing Statement on 2022-2023 Season

We could not have asked for a better way to have celebrated our 25th-anniversary season. We had: six months of great films; a major donation drive that gave us a nice, $1,200 bump; and finally caught up with the rest of the 21st century by now being able to accept Venmo at our shows, as well as e-commerce options through our website.

Round Up partner for Chequamegon Food Co-op

The Bay Area Film Society is happy to announce that we have earned $1,295.05 in donations through our time as the Round Up partner for Chequamegon Food Co-op in March of 2023.

The Bay Area Film Society is proud to announce that our next film, Butterfly in the Sky, will be screened in partnership with the Friends of the Vaughn Library in promotion of the newly formed Ashland Adult Literacy group.

Chequamegon Food Co-op Round For Partners

We are honored to be @chequamegonfoodcoop Round For Partners March recipient. We have a lovely swag basket drawing on display, sign up and try to win a BAFS T-shirt, BAFS winter beanie, two BAFS stickers, two free tickets to a BAFS film, two @southshorebrewery pint glasses with the beer to fill them. The drawing will be on March 31st. We have membership forms available and your membership would last a year from the date purchased so it’s never too late in the season.
