The Bay Area Film Society was founded in the winter of 1997 by a small group of film lovers desperate for more films. We kicked off with “The Full Monty” at the local historical society on a snowy February night, not knowing if anyone would show. We sold out. We’ve been showing films ever since. We’ve now moved on to the larger, more comfortable theater at StageNorth in Washburn as our regular location and we show one to two films per month from September through April.
